The University of Liverpool is collaborating on a project to set up a pan-European Paediatric Clinical Trials Network that will address the critical problems with the design, implementation and operational conduct of paediatric clinical trials. The six year project will be funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), which is jointly funded by the European Union (represented by the European Commission) and the European Pharmaceutical Industry (represented by EFPIA, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations). Her Majesty’s Government is committed to maintaining the funding of these schemes following Brexit.
This is a senior administrative post within the University’s NIHR Clinical Research Network Cluster office, reporting to the Cluster Lead and Assistant Lead. You will play a central role in managing the UK Hub of the pan-European Paediatric Clinical Trials Network, working in unison with an administration. You will be working alongside members of the international project management team, University of Liverpool staff and associates, representatives from paediatric research networks within the UK and Europe and other relevant paediatric international organisations. The role will require the co-ordination of activities across the UK clinical research infrastructure and linking this in with the pan-European Paediatric Clinical Trials Network. This will involve close liaison with the UK paediatric clinical research community and the operational leadership of UK and European networks. The post will be based within the University of Liverpool, Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and there will be a requirement to travel nationally and across Europe to attend project meetings. You should have a degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience).
The post is available until 31 March 2020.
