An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior University Teacher to join the Design, Manufacture and Management (DMM) group within the Department of Mechanical Engineering. You will be part of one of the most successful Mechanical Engineering departments in the UK, with over 1000 students (Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate Research) and 55 academic staff.
The post holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of materials covering a range of management concepts, and will play a key role in successfully integrating Engineering Management content across the range of programmes offered by the Faculty of Engineering. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills, and experience of achieving programme-level curriculum change, working across departments and teams to plan and progress projects.
Focused and motivated, you will have the ability to cover a range of topics relevant to graduate destinations, a familiarity with strategies to promote learning and a demonstrable interest in enthusing and engaging large student cohorts.
We are looking for an active and successful Engineering Management leader, with good honours degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Science or Maths, and welcome applications both from individuals with relevant doctoral degree in Management, or equivalent industrial experience in a relevant area. A recognised teaching qualification and proven experience of teaching across the breadth of the Engineering Management curriculum is essential.
The successful applicant will hold a good honors degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Science or Maths, and also have a relevant doctoral degree in Management, or equivalent industrial experience in a relevant area. Extensive experience in the area of Engineering Management gained in an academic or professional capacity is essential for the role.
