This post is available for one year to be a highly productive and collaborative member of the dental research team in the Centre for Experimental Medicine. The position will involve working as part of an Arthritis Research UK funded research project in collaboration with Professor Susan Brain in King’s College London, to investigate a role for inflammasomes in orofacial pain. The project links basic immunology with ion channels, utilising both in vitro and in vivo models of inflammation and pain. Successful applicants will be responsible for independent research, supervision, planning, day-to-day lab management, collaborations and outreach.

The successful candidate must have:
- A PhD in Immunology, Physiology, or a closely related area.
- At least three year’s recent relevant research experience to include one year’s research experience in immunology, pharmacology or physiology.
- Experience teaching/supervising/mentoring postgraduate/undergraduate/school students and visiting researchers in the laboratory
- A methodical approach to project management and meticulous in regards to experimental procedures and record keeping.
