King’s College London – Centre for Developmental Neurobiology

Grade 6, basic starting salary from £33,518 plus £2,923 London Allowance per annum

This is a fixed term positions for 2 years, starting Spring/Summer 2018

This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position funded by King’s College London, Centre for Developmental Neurobiology.

The successful applicant will pursue research projects with the goal of understanding how brain-wide neural circuits lead to flexible cognitive behaviours in mice. The techniques employed will include state-of-the-art chronic in-vivo two photon calcium imaging of multiple cell classes, targeted optogenetic manipulations, viral vector based functional circuit mapping, and quantitative mouse behaviour.  The successful applicants will benefit from the collaborative, friendly and interactive culture of the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology at King’s College London, and will have the opportunity to develop collaborations with the strong developmental, molecular and genetic research groups at the Centre.

Candidates must be highly motivated and with a strong research track record. Experience with in-vivo two photon imaging and rodent behaviour will be highly valued. Candidates with programming skills, or with backgrounds in physics or engineering are encouraged to apply.

The lab will open in May/June 2018

The selection process will be a presentation and panel interview.
