Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in modelling diabetic foot infection, in the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry. The post is industrially funded and will be tenable on a fixed term basis for 7 months.
We are looking for an ambitious, practical, and dedicated scientist who can work well as part of an active team. The successful candidate will become a member of Dr Bianca Price’s laboratory in the Division of Pharmacy & Optometry.
You should hold a Ph.D. in microbiology and have previous research experience working with bacterial communities. Knowledge of tissue culture and next generation sequencing or related techniques is desirable. Previous experience in wound microbiology (3D tissue culture / microbiome work / in vitro modelling) and a developing publication record would be advantageous. Strong communication and time-management skills are essential. The successful candidate will be required to work with clinical samples and must be prepared to drive in order to collect samples as well as report to the sponsor frequently.
