Research Associate in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery at University College London

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be  £34,635 to £41,864 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The research group in HPB and Liver Transplantation Surgery at the Royal Free Campus, UCL have major programmes of research in Evidence based Healthcare and clinical trials, Organ preservation and I/R injury and novel surgical technologies.

You will carry out qualitative research related to the surgeons’ requirements for the new system and interview patients, surgeons, theatre staff and other healthcare professionals to find out the facilitators and barriers in implementing this system routinely in liver centres in NHS. In addition, you will also perform all the activities related to ensuring that image guided surgery can be performed on patients who consent for image guided surgery, ensuring that the pre-operative scans are available to Centre for Medical Image Computing for processing and that the equipment necessary for performing image guided surgery is available at the operating theatres.

This post is available initially funded until 31 December 2020.

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelors degree in Arts or Science or MBChB or equivalent. Experience in research within university or healthcare environment, proven ability and commitment to carry out high quality original research in a research environment and a research aptitude and experience in areas related to topic of research work are all essential.
