We are looking for a part-time Research Assistant to work as part of a research team of postdoctoral researchers, engineers, and PhD students investigating a translational approach to neuromodulation of the autonomic nervous system. Activities will include providing routine and specialist histology, immunohistochemistry techniques, microscopy, and image capture required for acute experiments in large animal models to identify the anatomy, physiology, and response to stimulation of a variety of peripheral nerves.
The post holder must be able to work independently and without direct supervision, as well as collaboratively with partners in industry and must communicate effectively with all members of the wider research team.
Previous experience in histology and immunohistochemistry is essential with familiarity of working within a demanding service environment. You should have a degree or equivalent, be flexible in your approach and work to a high standard. The ability to work unsupervised would be expected.
