A Research Assistant/Associate is required to work in the framework of the UK’s Faraday Institution on mitigating the degradation of Lithium Ion Batteries (LIBs). You will investigate the degradation of LIBs with scanning probe microscopy employing electrochemical atomic force microscopy and electrochemical scanning tunnelling microscopy. Model anodes, cathodes and solid electrolyte interfaces will be studied. The findings will be combined with the results of our partners to obtain a holistic understanding of degradation processes in LIBs.
You must have a PhD (awarded or nearing completion) in chemistry/physical chemistry, physics or a related discipline, with previous experience in scanning probe microscopy; experience of preparation and characterization of LIBs is desirable. Experience in the supervision of postgraduates is advantageous.
The post is available fixed term for 12 months and is full time.
