Sociology at Goldsmiths is seeking to recruit a Reader in Sociology with teaching specialism in contemporary social theory and philosophy and research interests in a complementary field to those in the Department. The post is permanent and full time.
The post is to fulfil teaching needs across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. It will require the ability to contribute to the delivery and programme development of core modules for undergraduate students studying our BA Sociology (http://www.gold.ac.uk/ug/ba-sociology/) and related degrees as well as the philosophy elements of the BA Politics Philosophy & Economics degree (https://www.gold.ac.uk/ug/ba-politics-philosophy-economics/). You will display a breadth of knowledge in social theory (both classic and contemporary) philosophy and methodology of social sciences political philosophy and ethics. Depending on your specialism the role will also require contribution to one or more of our postgraduate programmes. All members of the department develop their own specialised modules.

You will join one of the of the largest and most innovative Sociology Departments in the UK offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in an institution specialising in the social sciences arts and humanities. You will be expected to participate fully in departmental life programme development and administration.
You will have a PhD and extensive teaching experience.
