You will join the Prospect and Insight Team within the Development, Alumni Relations and Events Department (DARE). The team won an Insight in Fundraising Award for Most Powerful Insight Using Innovative Methods of Data Analysis and we are looking for someone with the ambition to help the team grow in impact and reputation. As a Department DARE is at an exciting point in its journey as the University scales up its ambitions to secure philanthropic support in both donations and volunteer time. Data has strategic value. Your research will enrich the conversations our fundraisers, alumni relations colleagues and senior management have with our University’s alumni, donors and friends. The research will empower our staff to build relationships with members of our global alumni community and help secure philanthropic support for the University in ways that make a real difference to Learning and Teaching, the Student Experience and to Research. Since it was established in 2002 DARE has established links with 170,000 alumni and raised nearly £50 million in donations.
Your duties are varied and may include analysing quantitative data to predict which alumni are likely to donate, identifying alumni to volunteer in an advisory role, creating bios for guests attending a dinner event, or compiling a report on a charitable foundation’s previous giving and any existing links to the University.
We are looking for a highly accurate and analytical individual with experience of quantitative data analysis who is curious and motivated to ensure that the research and analysis is acted upon and has an impact. You will have the skills to locate and to link relevant data from a variety of sources and to synthesize the information into reports that you present with confidence for different audiences in ways that non-data specialists can understand. You will have excellent time management skills, working effectively and flexibly both independently and as a team player. You will also have experience of prospect research within a fundraising organization or in an enquiry-driven research or information unit within a business setting.
