Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Professional Practice) in Art Psychotherapy at University of Roehampton

Part time: 0.6 FTE.
Interview date: W/C 25 June 2018.

We are looking for a part-time, without-term Lectureship/Senior Lectureship (Professional Practice) in Art Psychotherapy to join our Psychology department. We are looking for applications from HCPC registered art psychotherapists with a wealth of knowledge and experience concerning the theory and practice of art psychotherapy. Candidates with knowledge of analytical art psychotherapy are particularly welcome to apply.

Applicants are expected to have expertise in a specialised area of clinical practice, prior experience of teaching at postgraduate level and the capacity to supervise final year students as well as the capacity to contribute to students’ understanding of research and research methodologies. As the position includes the co-ordination and allocation of placements across the programme, applicants are expected to utilise their extensive professional networks and demonstrate excellent organisational, communication skills and proficiency in IT.

We welcome applications from highly motivated candidates who will contribute to the existing staff team through high quality scholarship and engagement related to practice and to a full range of teaching duties on the MA Art Psychotherapy Programme. This includes: placement allocation, teaching on the research module, workshop and group facilitation, clinical and dissertation supervision, tutorials and marking.

Teaching currently takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Candidates need to be available to teach on Wednesdays, which is the main teaching day for this post.

This is an exciting time for the University; our new £35m state-of-the art library has just opened and we are continuing to develop a number of external partnerships across the globe.

We have a strong emphasis on supporting our students to reach their full potential in order to launch themselves onto successful graduate careers and we are embarking on a radical programme of enhancement in learning and teaching across all our academic areas. ‘In the Complete University Guide 2018, Roehampton is the highest-ranked modern university in London. Modern, or new, universities are defined as those granted university status post-1992. Complete University Guide does not itself define modern universities and does not produce a separate league table in which these are ranked.’

The University has a beautiful, vibrant parkland campus, is located in the heart of south-west London and offers excellent facilities for researching, learning, teaching and working.

It is expected that interviews will be held on: w/c 25 June 2018.

The University is an equal opportunities and ‘disability confident’ employer.
