Head of Space Management at Manchester Metropolitan University

Average weekly working hours: 37.00

The Estates, Facilities and Capital Development (EFCD) directorate is looking for an exceptional candidate with a proven track record of space planning, problem solving and delivering innovative solutions to improve space utilisation.

You will report to the Assistant Director of EFCD (Property and Space Management) and will lead initiatives to right size the University estate to meet emerging strategic needs. It is essential you are able to operate a senior level in a complex organisation and can influence a diverse range of stakeholders through effective communication and engagement. Adept analytical skills and a keen attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to challenge the status quo.

The University estate currently extends to approximately 270,000m2 of floor space across 54 buildings in Manchester and Crewe, with a number of listed and leasehold properties. We completed our last phase of major developments in 2015 and are now embarking on a significant £340m+ investment programme over the next 7-8 years. The new developments will replace dilapidated building stock and provide additional capacity for the University to deliver its Faculty and Thematic strategic objectives in Education, Research and Internationalisation.

This is a great opportunity to join an organisation located in the heart of Manchester, a thriving metropolitan city that is experiencing significant ongoing regeneration. Informal enquiries should be made to Sam Radziejowski, Assistant Director EFCD (Property and Space Management) by email at s.radziejowski@mmu.ac.uk or by telephone on 0161 247 1288.

Please make sure that you include a CV and covering letter with your application.

If you would like to join our people and share our ambition, we would love to hear from you.
