Purpose and Main Duties
Two fixed term posts for a graduate teaching assistant (GTA) are available in the Department of Management in the School of Business, Economics & Informatics. This post provides an exciting opportunity to study for a PhD in the largest department at Birkbeck, while gaining valuable experience as a teaching assistant.
We welcome applications from strong candidates with management research interests preferably in accounting and finance and a desire to pursue an academic career.
The post holders will need to be registered as a research student within the Department for the period of employment and the Home/EU registration fees will be waived. Candidates will be considered for admission to the MPhil/PhD programme first (please see: How to apply for an MPhil/PhD), and for the GTA post only after they have been offered a place in the programme. The posts are open to full-time home, EU and international students.

Remuneration: Grade 6, which is £16,293 per annum inclusive of London Allowance (0.5 FTE pro-rata to the full-time equivalent of £32,586 per annum). Postgraduate tuition Home/EU fees will also be waived.
These jobs are part time working 17.5 hours (0.5 FTE) per week and fixed term for a period of up to three years. The salary quoted above is inclusive of London allowance and will be pro-rata per annum. The appointment may be subject to a probationary period of up to six months.
