We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent research and writing skills to join the Art Collections team as a Cataloguer.
The Art Collections at Royal Holloway house world-class paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and watercolours including works by William Powell Frith, John Everett Millais and Edward Burne-Jones, as well as furniture and decorative art objects relating to the College’s rich history. Making these works accessible to students, staff and the wider public is a key aim for the art collections. The post holder will help to research the art collections and catalogue them onto our new Ke Emu collections management system ready for publication on the Art Collections’ website.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in an art gallery or museum and in using a collections management database. They will have excellent research skills, including a proven record of undertaking in-depth historical research in archive or similar historical collection. In addition, the post holder will have exemplary written and oral communication skills, and the ability to make scholarly research accessible to a variety of audiences. May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.
